Heart meets high-speed Wi-Fi

Southwest Airlines marks a major milestone as its first Starlink-equipped aircraft entered service on June 22, taking off from Dallas to Albuquerque and bringing lightning-fast WiFi to the carrier’s fleet.

Starlink delivers a new era of inflight connectivity to Southwest,” said Tony Roach, Chief Customer & Brand Officer. “Starting with this first aircraft, we will be rapidly integrating Starlink into our fleet this year. This ultra-fast WiFi brings an at-home experience to the air and redefines how Customers can stay connected, be productive, and make the most of their time while flying at 35,000 feet.”

Starlink's advanced satellite network orbits close to Earth, enabling high-speed internet access across the world. Starlink-equipped aircraft give Customers the ability to stream content at 4K speeds (no need to download ahead of time), play live games, watch live sports, share and edit documents, upload large files, scroll, shop, make reservations, and book that night flight.

Southwest® Customers, followers, and fans are invited to track Southwest’s first Starlink aircraft (tail number N8543Z) and connect in the sky at lightning-fast speeds.

The First of Many

Southwest’s first Starlink-equipped aircraft is an exciting milestone, but it's only the beginning.

This summer, the airline will begin retrofitting more aircraft with Starlink, giving Customers the opportunity to experience upgraded onboard connectivity across the carrier’s network.
