Where travel agents earn, learn and save!
News / Brr, it’s cold out here … let’s fly Southwest to a warmer sphere!
Southwest® is returning 28 routes to its network on a seasonal basis

Southwest Airlines® flight schedules are available for booking through February 2027. The carrier’s unique scheduling approach aims to provide the most offerings on highest-demand days between the holiday season and Spring Break travel.
Flying South for the Winter
Southwest® is returning 28 routes to its network on a seasonal basis, including many it has not operated in recent schedules. Those 28 routes, as well as six new routes, are designed to offer Customers opportunities to visit warm-weather locations in Florida, California, and the Caribbean during the frigid winter months in the northern half of the United States. The carrier is continuing to buttress its Florida fortress – Orlando International Airport – with up to 203 departures on high-demand Saturdays through the first two months of 2027.
Caribbean offerings include first-time Southwest service between Nashville and Liberia, Costa Rica, as well as Columbus, Ohio, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Additionally, the industry’s most-reliable airline is bringing back service connecting Nashville and San Jose, Costa Rica; Pittsburgh and Cancun; and Indianapolis and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
How Southwest Airlines® Built This
Despite the January and February 2027 schedule containing just 64 days of available inventory, it features five unique schedules designed to match Customer preferences and highest-demand days. The carrier’s approach to scheduling maximizes itinerary options on those.
On days anticipated to have lower demand due based on historical trends, Southwest will operate nearly 3,100 flights. By contrast, the days when stronger demand is anticipated will feature more than 4,300 flights. Overall, Southwest is offering more flights on each unique schedule compared to its January and February 2026 schedule.
