To celebrate the first anniversary of Getaways by Southwest®, media, influencers, and guests enjoyed a “Spa Weekend”-themed experience that included a zen-inspired hangar event in Burbank, California, a celebratory fun flight from Burbank to Las Vegas, and an exclusive world premiere of the new film. The experience connected the joy of travel with the fun of getting away together. Las Vegas is the most-booked Getaways by Southwest destination, making it a fitting setting for the “Spa Weekend” experience and first anniversary celebration.

The Most Rewarding Way to Get Away

Getaways by Southwest® continues to expand with new destinations, sales and promotions, and Customer-focused offerings designed to make vacation planning easier, including the opportunity to bundle flight, hotel, and optional car bookings into one package and save.

Customers can now book packages to top ski destinations, including Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City; and Colorado favorites such as Montrose, which serves Telluride and Crested Butte, and Hayden, which serves Steamboat Springs. Starting in October, Customers will be able to book vacations to even more popular destinations including Austin, Texas; Santa Rosa, California; Tucson, Arizona; and Bozeman, Montana, as well as Florida beach getaways to Panama City Beach, Pensacola, and Destin/Fort Walton Beach at Southwest.com/Getaways.

Getaways by Southwest® has made vacation planning easier, more flexible, and more rewarding. With Getaways, Customers can:

• Earn 5 Rapid Rewards® points per dollar spent on eligible Getaways by Southwest® bookings.
• Check two bags per traveler for free, a savings of up to $200 per person, roundtrip.
• Select a standard seat for free after booking.
• Bundle flight, hotel, and optional car bookings into one package and save.
• Keep travel plans flexible with no change fees and vacation travel credits valid for 18 months if a trip is canceled up to 10 minutes before scheduled departure.

Inspired by themes from the upcoming theatrical release “Spa Weekend”—friendship, relaxation, travel, and shared memories—the experience gave attendees a first-hand look at how Southwest is helping trips finally leave the group chat. From the Burbank hangar event to the onboard celebration, the activation showed how Getaways by Southwest® can make planning a vacation package simple, flexible, and fun.
