Southwest Airlines
There are more flights than ever before to Austin, Texas; Las Vegas; Nashville; and San Diego

Southwest Airlines® debuted more flights than ever before in Austin, Texas, Las Vegas, Nashville, and San Diego with its schedule available for booking through Oct. 31, 2026, at Southwest.com®. Along with increased departures at those airports, new routes debut in the Southwest® network and international redeye service launches for the first time.

Flexing in Southwest’s points of strength

With its newest Flight Crew base set to open in Spring 2026, Southwest will operate 135 trips at Austin on peak days through October. The schedule features year-round service between Austin and Memphis, as well as Saturday seasonal service connecting Austin with Santa Rosa (Sonoma County), California, and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Southwest is slated to offer 282 departures on Sundays at Las Vegas, including the airline industry’s lone nonstop flight between Las Vegas and San Jose, Costa Rica. That route is scheduled for daily service and as Southwest’s first international redeye flight.

The carrier’s commitment at Nashville International Airport continues with substantial year-over-year growth for Sunday (215 flights) and midweek (210 flights on Monday, Thursday, Friday) departures. Among that growth is year-round service between Music City and Reno, Nevada, along with an additional roundtrip between Nashville and Burbank, California.

San Diego – where the carrier’s service shines at San Diego International Airport’s new Terminal 1 – also reaches an all-time high for Southwest with up to 140 trips, including an increase in international service. Beginning Oct. 1, service between San Diego and Los Cabos, Mexico, is scheduled to expand from once daily to twice daily based on seasonal demand.

More choices open at MCO

Southwest is continuing to grow at Orlando International Airport in October with seasonal increases and year-over-year trip-count expansions. The carrier will offer up to 181 departures on its busiest days in Orlando.

Aligned with seasonal demand, Southwest is adding weekday departures between Orlando and Albuquerque to complement existing weekend service. Additional seasonal additions and increases at Orlando include routes connecting The City Beautiful with Cleveland, Ohio, El Paso, Texas, Memphis, Tennessee, and Louisville, Kentucky.

On Jan. 27, 2026, Southwest implemented assigned seating at the culmination of its business transformation. Along with assigned seats, the carrier has free WiFi for Rapid Rewards® Members, thanks to T-Mobile, and was recently named Best U.S. Airline for 2025 by The Wall Street Journal.
