Let’s summer on Southwest!

Summertime, and Southwest is making the travel easy! Southwest Airlines® today published its Summer 2027 schedule, making the airline’s largest-ever summer schedule available for booking with continued growth in Austin, Nashville, and San Diego, along with dozens of seasonal routes for summer travel.

Even Bigger and the Biggest in the Texas State Capital

Count the Southwest® schedule in Austin among things that are bigger in Texas. Building on its nearly 50-year history of offering more options than any other airline in Austin, Southwest will offer up to 143 departures with frequency additions on existing routes and seven seasonal routes, including five that Southwest has not previously offered.

Southwest is adding weekend service through June and July connecting Austin to Liberia, Costa Rica, Nassau, Bahamas, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, complementing existing international service to Cancun, Mexico, Los Cabos, Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and San José, Costa Rica. The carrier with the most Heart in Austin also offers the most destinations and frequencies of international service.

For domestic service in Austin, Southwest is returning seasonal daily service connected to Portland, Oregon, and seasonal Saturday-only service connected to Sarasota, Florida, along with weekend roundtrips to Savannah, Georgia, and Saturday-only service to and from Bozeman, Montana, for the first time.

More in Music City

Southwest’s summer schedule is scheduled to offer up to 220 trips at Nashville in Summer 2027, its largest-ever summer offerings in the Tennessee state capital. Seasonal service includes new routes between Nashville and Boise, Idaho, Nassau, Bahamas, and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Southwest is also resuming seasonal service connecting Nashville and Bozeman, Montana, as well as Portland, Oregon.

Southwest has continually invested in Nashville since opening a Flight Crew base there in 2024 with year-over-year growth in each month of the year, include up to 20 more departures in Summer 2027 compared to Summer 2026. Construction is underway on the airline’s lounges in Austin and Nashville; two of four lounges the airline is slated to open.

San Diego, Let’s Go

The unofficial airline of California is continuing to grow its largest footprint in the Golden State, bringing up to 150 trips through the summer in San Diego.

Southwest is increasing year-round frequencies with up to six trips on peak days between San Diego and Austin, along with three trips each weekday between San Diego and Seattle. Additionally, Southwest is adding new seasonal service on Sundays connecting San Diego and Oklahoma City, accompanying returning seasonal service between San Diego and Bozeman, Montana, Columbus, Ohio, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh.

Around the Horn

Southwest will offer up to 278 trips in Las Vegas, representing an increase of 12 trips year-over-year, while it will also increase Orlando up to 173 trips, an increase of 17 trips year-over-year. Seasonal daily service between Las Vegas and Anchorage is set to return in June 2027, as is seasonal service connecting Bozeman, Montana, to Chicago (Midway) and Dallas.

How Southwest Built This

The airline’s scheduled 4,498 trips on peak days during Summer 2027 are the most Southwest has ever offered in its summer schedule.
