ASTA demands that Congress not go on recess without providing relief
October 5 - American Society of Travel Advisors:
As you know, Congress remains gridlocked over the next round of coronavirus relief legislation remain stalled, and it’s possible that they will adjourn through the election without passing anything. This is beyond frustrating, given the economic devastation in our industry and many others. That’s why we’re partnering with a coalition of almost 200 travel, hotel, franchise, and state and local government to demand that Congress not go on recess without providing relief for sectors devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.
With Congress threatening to leave town without acting, we need to ask you to engage once again. While ASTA’s staff and outside lobbyists are working around the clock to push for our COVID priorities, if there’s no agreement on an overall package none of those priorities will make it across the finish line, and our members will remain without any relief through the election and possibly into next year.
