News / IATAN adds ASTA's Verified Travel Advisor Certification to their accreditation program
Travel advisors can now use their VTA designation as recommendation for IATAN Accreditation
The International Airlines Travel Agent Network (IATAN) recently added ASTA’s Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) certification as a recognized Recommendation option for their agency accreditation process. Travel advisors who hold the VTA designation will also be eligible to opt-out of IATAN’s Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance policy requirement. Recognizing ASTA’s VTA program in IATAN’s accreditation process is a major milestone for the program.
IATAN’s mission is to promote professionalism, administer meaningful and impartial business standards, and provide cost-effective products and services that benefit the travel industry based in the United States. Coupling their accreditation with ASTA’s education and Verified Travel Advisor certification is a strong commitment to shared goals.
Unlike other training or educational offerings, ASTA’s VTA certification places a direct focus on ethical standards, professionalism, and the critical importance of duty of care. Earlier this year, ASTA streamlined the initial coursework required, with an emphasis on ethics, legal matters, and regulatory compliance. The VTA certification was designed to enhance advisor credibility and consumer confidence by setting a benchmark for reputable, trustworthy, and responsible travel advisors.
ASTA encourages travel advisors to enhance their professional journey and credibility with the Verified Travel Advisor certification. Visit ASTA.org/VTA to learn more and embark on your path to becoming a certified travel advisor.
