Breeze is expanding significantly from cities it already serves to new destinations

Breeze Airways, one of the newer low-fare airlines in the United States, has announced several new routes from 15 cities, including two new destinations.

Expansion, expansion, expansion

Breeze Airways, headquartered in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, was the first airline to be launched in the United States over a decade. Its founder is David Neeleman, who founded JetBlue, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, and WestJet. Since its founding, the airline has expanded rapidly, regularly announcing new services.

This announcement is significant and includes two new nonstop destinations, Cincinnati and Vero Beach in Florida. With the new routes from 15 cities, Breeze now offers 99 nonstop routes between 33 cities in 19 states.

Service to Vero Beach from Hartford and Westchester County will begin on February 2 and 3, respectively. Breeze will offer flights to Charleston and San Francisco from Cincinnati from February 8.

Breeze provides fast, efficient, and affordable air service between underserved city pairs. We’re excited to introduce two new cities to our national route network, as we add routes from 15 cities.” – Tom Doxey, President, Breeze Airways

Sin City

Last month, Breeze announced eight new Las Vegas routes in eight weeks, increasing competition from Vegas. Since beginning operations just over a year ago, Breeze has come out swinging. Supported by its fleet of Embraer E195 and Airbus A220 aircraft, the airline seems to be experiencing good levels of growth. All the new routes announced from Vegas will be operated by the Airbus A220, which according to planespotter.net, Breeze has eight.

One of the notable routes from Las Vegas was service to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The route was initially announced in April but was delayed for a few months. At the time, Las Vegas was Breeze’s 11th nonstop destination from Windsor Locks, a significant part of the airline’s commitment to establishing a hub. The first flight from Bradley to Las Vegas took place on September 7th.

Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis hinted that Breeze would add more routes from Las Vegas in the future.

The investment Breeze is making in Las Vegas speaks to the enduring allure of this destination. With these and other incoming new routes, Breeze has identified several unserved LAS markets and will soon make it even easier for travelers from across the country to fly to Las Vegas.

Though Breeze prides itself on serving underserved city pairs, it faces competition on every route from Las Vegas. Just on the Las Vegas – Bradley route, Breeze faces competition from JetBlue and, most recently, Frontier. Fares for all three airlines on the route are pretty similar. Though there is quite a bit of competition from Las Vegas, Breeze should not have too much difficulty, as it constantly maintains low fares and offers promotional fares.
