Ring in the new year in the Bahamas
The Bahamas is enjoying a cheerful holiday season with record tourism arrivals. In 2018, The Bahamas has seen an over 10% increase in international arrivals aided by new hotel product, new direct airlift from major hubs, and exciting new experiences for travelers.
International Arrivals Increased in 2018
• International arrivals have increased by 13% in October yearly • International air capacity grew by 16% in October, 2018 • Scheduled direct flights are set to increase more than 15% from November, 2018 to January, 2019 • Expedia reported a 30% increase in room • Expedia also reported greater than 25% increase in hotel gross bookings every year
The National Festival of The Bahamas
Celebrate Boxing Day and New Year's Bahamian style at Junkanoo, the National Festival of The Bahamas. Parades starts at 10:00pm December 25, 2018 and 2:00am on January 1, 2019.
New Year’s Regatta at Staniel Cay
The picturesque Staniel Cay in Exuma will celebrate the New Year with traditional festivities and the sailing of native sloops in a regatta. Residents and visitors are invited to ring in 2019 with a cruise along Exuma’s crystal clear waters.
