Virgin Voyages is doubling down on its commitment to the travel agent community with its first-ever ‘First Mate Spectacular Soiree’ and the launch of its Golden Ink Awards.
The top 100 North American travel agents, who the cruise line refers to as ‘First Mates,’ with the most bookings between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022 will be invited to board a complimentary and exclusive getaway in January. Departing Miami on January 4, 2023, this four-night soiree aboard the brand’s second ship, Valiant Lady, will take top-selling First Mates to Key West and Bimini, and will also include a stop at Virgin Voyages’ signature Beach Club. Other highlights include a special cocktail party, exclusive cabin drops with Virgin Voyages swag, sailaway cocktails and educational opportunities.
The Golden Ink Awards, an annual celebration, will also take place onboard, acknowledging the agents who’ve excelled in various categories.
Each First Mate attendee will be invited to bring a guest to share the experience, and will be treated to a Sea Terrace cabin along with US$200 in Sailor Loot to spend onboard.
“Our First Mates have always been in our corner so we wanted to find a way to celebrate their commitment to this incredible brand,” said John Diorio, Vice President of North American Sales. “The Golden Ink Awards are one of the only advisor-focused awards in the cruising industry. It’s so important that we take the time to show First Mates our appreciation and to treat them to the same incredible experience that their clients have loved.”
The top 100 list has not been solidified so agents still have plenty of time to book their clients before the deadline of October 31 to earn a spot on the list. They can boost their bookings by reminding clients of any remaining Future Voyage Credits, by selling a Circle (reservations of 10+ cabins), by utilizing the line’s new Match and Sea More program that offers loyalty perks to those who’ve cruised on other lines, and by taking advantage of the new LetsGoBook platform.
