The Turks and Caicos Islands is celebrating a record-breaking tourism milestone, reporting its strongest-ever second quarter while continuing to expand its luxury resort portfolio and airlift from key Canadian and U.S. markets.

According to Experience Turks and Caicos, the destination welcomed 384,590 stayover visitors during the first six months of 2026 (preliminary figures), a 6% increase over the same period last year. Visitor arrivals were also up 5% year over year in the second quarter, marking the highest Q2 total on record. The destination has now recorded year-over-year growth every month in the first half of 2026.

“The continued growth of the Turks and Caicos Islands is a reflection of the confidence travellers have in our destination and the exceptional experiences delivered by our tourism stakeholders every day,” said Zhavargo Jolly, Minister of Tourism.

“As visitor arrivals reach new record highs, new luxury developments come on stream, and air connectivity continues to expand, we remain focused on preserving the qualities that make these islands so special while ensuring tourism continues to create meaningful opportunities for our people.”

Expanded Airlift

The destination is strengthening connectivity with several new air services.

BermudAir has expanded service between Providenciales and Toronto, along with Newark, Boston, Baltimore, Raleigh-Durham, Fort Lauderdale and St. Pete-Clearwater. The new Raleigh-Durham and St. Pete-Clearwater routes represent the first-ever nonstop flights between those cities and Turks and Caicos.

United Airlines will also launch new nonstop service between Denver and Providenciales in December 2026, creating the westernmost direct route to the destination.

From Canada, Porter Airlines is scheduled to begin seasonal nonstop flights from Toronto on Nov. 6, 2026, followed by new Ottawa service starting Dec. 17, 2026.

New Luxury Hotels & Dining

The destination continues to grow its upscale accommodation offering, adding 177 hotel rooms so far this year with the openings of Hotel Indigo by IHG near Grace Bay Beach, Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos and 20 new suites at Ellipse Grace Bay.

Later this year, the Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay will add another 184 rooms, becoming the destination’s first Hyatt-branded property.

New dining venues introduced this year include AMBRA at Beach Enclave, Anchorage at Blue Haven Marina, Il Forna at Hotel Indigo and Salina at Ellipse.

Looking ahead, the destination says luxury development will continue with the planned openings of The St. Regis Turks and Caicos, The Residences and Janu Turks & Caicos in 2027, while a future Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts project is also in the pipeline.
