April 28 - .Meliá Hotels International began to vaccinate its employees in Punta Cana yesterday in a process coordinated with the Department of Public Health as part of its strategy to prioritize the tourism industry to make the country a totally safe destination to receive millions of visitors after so many months of pandemic.

 

Starting with the team at the Paradisus Palma Real hotel, this Sunday 370 company employees were vaccinated, with the authorities hoping to reach up to 800 people per day and complete the first dose next Wednesday. The second and final dose of the vaccine supplied by Sinnovac is scheduled for May 25, after which all of the 2,200 company employees in the Dominican Republic will have been immunized.

 

The process was carried out in a large public area in the hotel following all the standards of the Stay Safe With Meliá program certified by Bureau Veritas. During the process, representatives of local bodies such as Cestur (the tourist police), the Provincial Health Authorities, the State Epidemiology Service and the Ministry of Tourism were present to offer their support and also congratulate the hotel and the Meliá corporate team for the quality of the protocols and their efficiency in planning and organizing the entire process.
