New ground experience enhancements are removing friction from airport journeys with simpler international connections, fewer touchpoints at bag drop and security and easier arrivals from curb to gate

Delta is making international connections smoother and more predictable, thanks to trusted partnerships and innovative technology.

With Seamless Baggage Transfer now serving even more routes across its Pacific network, Delta offers customers a faster and more predictable way to connect when traveling to the United States.

Customers departing from Sydney Airport (SYD) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as well as customers traveling on Delta's Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) to Atlanta (ATL) service, can now proceed directly to their connecting gate after completing U.S. Customs and Border Protection and security requirements, with no need to reclaim and recheck baggage unless selected for additional inspection.

The expansion builds on the success of the program first introduced in 2025 from London Heathrow (LHR) and ATL, and to, from and through Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) to ATL with its joint venture partner Korean Air. Additional flights with Seamless Baggage Transfer include Incheon (ICN) to Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis (MSP) and Seattle (SEA), as well as ICN to LAX operated by Korean Air.

By expanding this offering, Delta is giving travelers back valuable time—up to 25 minutes on average—and making international connections seamless and more predictable.

TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID and App Bag Drop available at all hubs

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID is now live at more than 60 airports including all Delta hubs, giving customers a faster, more intuitive way to verify their identity at bag drop and security, with fewer touchpoints and expedited wait times. The technology uses secure biometric verification to streamline and help customers move through the airport with confidence and ease.

To be eligible for TSA PreCheck Touchless ID, each customer must:

  • Be a SkyMiles Member
  • Enroll in TSA PreCheck and have a Known Traveler Number
  • Have a valid non expired passport

Did you know? Now, eligible customers can opt in to Touchless ID right through the Delta app – no need to go through Delta.com. SkyMiles Members with a verified passport number and a Known Traveler Number saved to their profile can now enable Touchless ID easily – preferences will be saved for future travel.

Meanwhile, App Bag Drop—now available across all hubs—rewards customers who check in through the Delta app before arriving at the airport, reducing friction at the start of the journey and creating a more seamless experience from curb to gate. Making airport arrivals easier with Uber

Delta and Uber continue deepening their partnership to deliver meaningful value to SkyMiles Members and solve real customer pain points. Since introducing Preferred Drop-Off at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and expanding to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) late last year, thousands of customers each week have saved time by using the experience. Delta x Uber Preferred Drop-Off helps reduce congestion at busy curbs and makes navigating arrival simpler.

To access, customers can select “Delta x Uber Preferred Drop-Off” directly in the Uber app when traveling to LGA or ATL.
