Avelo celebrates with special $39 fare between Chicago and Southern Connecticut
This evening, Avelo Airlines will complete its 10,000th flight since its first departure 18 months ago — when Avelo became America’s first new airline in more than a decade. Avelo will celebrate the milestone flight between Chicago and New Haven, Connecticut by surprising every Customer aboard the Boeing 737 jetliner with a free roundtrip ticket.
The landmark flight (Avelo Airlines Flight 422) is scheduled to depart Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) at 7:25 p.m. tonight. In addition to the free roundtrip ticket Avelo is giving each of the nearly 130 Customers aboard tonight’s flight, Avelo is offering special “Pizza Express” one-way fares between New Haven and Chicago starting at $39* available at AveloAir.com.
Avelo began flying between MDW and HVN last May. The flight, known as the “Pizza Express,” connects The Second City’s most convenient airport with Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport. The two cities also lay claim to having America’s best pizza.
Chicago’s Most Convenient Airport
Flights typically operate between MDW and HVN four days per week: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. In contrast to Chicago’s other major airport, MDW is conveniently situated just minutes (by car or train) from downtown.
Connecticut’s Ultra-Convenient Gateway
New Haven is an easy jumping off point for the rest of Connecticut, New England and New York. Amidst the crowds, long lines, lengthy walks and traffic congestion encountered at other airports in the region, HVN offers a refreshingly smooth and simple alternative hometown airport experience. HVN’s adjacency to multiple major highways and commuter railways make it the region’s most convenient and easily accessible airport
