News / American Airlines partners with award-winning Pecan Lodge to serve Texas barbecue on select flights from DFW to New York airports
This collaboration marks the first time Pecan Lodge’s iconic barbecue will be served in the air

Beginning next month, customers aboard select American Airlines flights will be able to enjoy an authentic taste of Texas en route to New York as the airline partners with nationally recognized Pecan Lodge restaurant to serve Texas barbecue on board.
Since its founding in 2010, Pecan Lodge has been honored by the likes of the Food Network, New York Times, Travel + Leisure and more for its traditional Central Texas-style barbecue, which will take to the skies for the first time ever through this partnership with American.
In February, passengers in First Class on flights from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) can enjoy an authentic Pecan Lodge barbecue platter featuring brisket and smoked sausage, paired with creamy mac and cheese and crisp coleslaw. In March, American will offer a chopped brisket sandwich with roasted green beans and creamy potato salad.
Both options — served, of course, with a side of Pecan Lodge’s famous barbecue sauce — are only available for preorder beginning Jan. 11 through aa.com or American’s mobile app.
The Pecan Lodge partnership is the latest in American’s commitment to elevating its customer experience, having recently partnered with Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee both in lounges and in flight. This month, American also started rolling out free Wi-Fi to AAdvantage® members, sponsored by AT&T.
