News / Opening in summer 2025: Fairmont New Orleans
The upcoming Fairmont New Orleans will be part of a redevelopment project
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is heading back to New Orleans with a new property slated to open in summer 2025.
Fairmont New Orleans will be part of a redevelopment project that will transform the former Bank of New Orleans Building, a 31-storey skyscraper and the city’s 10th tallest building, located at 1010 Common Street in the Central Business District.
The luxury hotel will occupy 18 stories within the building, offering 250 guestrooms, including 40 suites ranging from one-bedrooms to specialty suites. There will also be three food & drink venues throughout the property, including an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge and a rooftop bar and speakeasy overlooking a swimming pool with expansive views of the city. There’ll also be more than 20,000 square feet of function space divided between ballrooms, meeting rooms and a library and business centre, plus a 10,000 square-foot spa.
Completed in 1971, 1010 Common Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its downtown neighbourhood is a coveted location with several historic buildings under renovation, expanded residential offerings, restaurants and art galleries. Local attractions include the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Louisiana Children’s Museum, National World War II Museum, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Lafayette Square and Canal Place, all nearby the Mississippi River.
