Two travelers could win a getaway to Florida for two

With American ultra-low-cost-carrier Spirit Airlines celebrating 30 years of flying to the Sunshine State, travelers can enter its latest competition to win a getaway for two, including flights, accommodation, and many other extras. Partnering with Visit Florida, the lucky winners can pick one of four Floridian destinations, Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW), Orlando (MCO), or Tampa (TPA).

The 'Flyaway' winners will be spoilt with three nights at either The Diplomat Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Luminary Hotel in Fort Myers, Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa in Orlando, and Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, in addition to other day excursions which could include indoor skydiving, dinner shows or theatre tickets. From now until May 2nd, participants can enter the 'Flyaway' competition by visiting spirit.com/flyaway.

 

30 years of connecting Florida

Spirit first touched down in Florida in 1993, kicking off connections to Fort Lauderdale; since then, the carrier has expanded to 70 nonstop destinations from the Sunshine State. As reported by PR Newswire, Vice President of Guest Experience, Brand & Communications for Spirit Airlines, Lania Rittenhouse, commented on the airline's commitment to Florida:

Partnering with Visit Florida

The carrier's collaboration with Visit Florida for the competition further highlights the airline's dedication to Florida. The carrier maintains its position as the leading ultra-low-cost carrier in the state. Dana Young, President and CEO of Visit Florida, commented on its partnership with Spirit:

Aiming for an improved travel experience

Spirit Airlines is reported to be one of the most fuel-efficient carriers in the industry, with a raft of new aircraft poised for delivery in 2023. The airline has recently announced further onboard enhancements, including wider seats, new headrests, comfy cushions, and an upgrade to the ‘Big Front Seat.’

The carrier recently welcomed its latest Airbus A320neo to the fleet, N980NK, taking delivery on March 24th. The aircraft was delivered from Mobile to Houston as NK9080 and, according to Flightradar24, commenced operations on March 29th. On its first full day, the aircraft operated five flights:

  • NK3141 between Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Miami International Airport (MIA)
  • NK3166 between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • NK2233 between Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and Portland International Airport (PDX)
  • NK2234 between Portland International Airport (PDX) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • NK1818 between Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
