According to Hilton’s 2026 Trends Report, road trips may be in vogue with 71% of travelers saying they plan to drive on their next vacation.

Based on a review of hilton.com search results data for stays of five nights or more between Dec. 21, 2025 - Jan.4, 2026, these are some of the top spots in the continental United States where travelers could be road-tripping soon.

Top trending holiday season destinations:

1. New York
