Young tourists can explore Regency-era film locations visiting London, Bath and Salisbury

Contiki cordially invites young tourists to indulge their Bridgerton fantasies with the announcement of a possible new Bridgerton-inspired Limited Edition trip. The proposed four-day mini adventure encourages guests to expand their social circles.

Following confirmation that the second season of the most popular Netflix show Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels about lives and loves in Regency-era London, will begin filming this spring, and the show receiving two SAG Award nominations, Contiki hopes to fulfil clients dreams in the summer “Social Season” of 2022.

The proposed four-day mini-break will visit over 19 areas of the period drama’s filming locations in London, Bath and the surrounding English countryside, and is set to be the latest in a series of recently launched Limited Edition trips from Contiki. Aiming to debut in summer 2022, the incomparable itinerary is sure to shine as the travel season’s 'Diamond of the First Water,’ with highlights including:

London:

• Enjoy a traditional high tea at the five-star Rubens at the Palace opposite Buckingham Palace. The historic property has its own Bridgerton-esque stories to tell, as in 1850 it was home to Madame Excalier’s court dressmaker fashioning ball gowns, tea dresses, walking costumes and bridal wear, and later became the accommodation of choice for debutantes attending balls at Buckingham Palace • A visit to Greenwich, including Ranger’s House on Chesterfield Walk which was used as the wisteria-clad exterior of the Bridgerton family home • A guided tour of central London, including Pall Mall and the Reform Club (where Anthony Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings meet in episode one) and Lancaster House used for Lady Bridgerton’s audience with Queen Charlotte • Dinner and drinks at the Viaduct Tavern (London’s last remaining authentic Victorian gin palace) and Gordon’s Wine Bar (London’s oldest wine bar)

Bath:

• A city tour taking in Bath Street, Alfred Street and Beauford Square (used in the show to recreate Mayfair), Trim Street (exterior for Gunter’s Tea Shop) and Abbey Street, location of Madame Delacroix’s dressmaking boutique • Holbourne Museum of Art and the Bath Assembly Rooms, both used for scenes in Lady Danbury’s mansion – the grand façade and the ballroom respectively

The return to London is via two prominent spots from the series:

• Salisbury’s Wilton House, which is used for a number of locations, not least the famous early scene where the quivering debutantes are presented to Queen Charlotte, and as the Duke of Hastings’ London residence • The picturesque Painshill Park in Surrey, whose lake and bridges provided the beautiful backdrop for the customary Promenade, where the protagonists meet to picnic, perambulate and preen
