The city’s best-known draw, the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, is embarking its most ambitious project to date, a US$69 million brand-new children’s zoo.
SeaWorld
In other attractions news, SeaWorld San Diego’s new roller coaster, Electric Eel, opens this summer as San Diego’s tallest, fastest roller coaster, accelerating to more than 60 mph and rocketing skyward nearly 150 feet, offering an upside- down view of Mission Bay.
LEGOLAND California Resort
And starting this summer LEGOLAND California Resort guests can dive underwater on the new LEGO CITY Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride.
InterContinental
The InterContinental brand is making a return to San Diego following a 30-year absence and will feature:• 400 rooms and suites
• A two-storey Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse
• Nearly 33,000 square feet of street-level restaurants and shops
The hotel is expected to open in September 2018.
