Tucked away behind the mangroves, just a short 15 minutes or so from Cancun Airport, nestles this oasis of a resort on the Caribbean Sea

On a recent work trip to Mexico, WheelsUpNetwork took some time off to spend a couple of days on the beach at the wonderful Dreams Natura. Tucked away behind the mangroves, just a short 15 minutes or so from Cancun Airport, nestles this oasis of a resort on the Caribbean Sea. Packed full of amenities, and graced with a wide white sandy beach, it’s easy to see why it is so popular with discerning couples, families and groups alike. Indeed, there were two weddings on property when we visited and from our vantage point, it looked as if every age group within each party was catered to so naturally, they would have relished another excuse to return, we’re sure.

With over 550 rooms, nine restaurants and six bars, and currently (in mid-November 2021 as we write this, sipping a latte from the Coco Cafè) operating at over 70% occupancy, there’s room aplenty to relax and unwind while maintaining your social distance, whether that’s lounging, dining or sipping. And, there’s certainly enough going on to keep you entertained whenever you feel the need to explore what else the hotel has to offer. In fact, this resort feels like a destination unto itself.

Kids (and the kid in you) will love the Rollglider aerial ride, and/or perhaps the splash park and water park with lazy river are more your speed. Of course, it never has to be either/or. We happened to be there on a Sunday, when the Desires Sports Bar (a disco at night) came in to its own, with multiple big screens showing the NFL. And later that night, the prime-time game was projected on to a huge screen outside, for a socially-distanced-approved viewing party under the stars.

And then there is the famed Dreams Spa by Pevonia® with a design inspired by the nearby cenotes; indulge and lose yourself, then emerge revived from the timeless combination of indigenous and modern therapies.

Of course, in our current new normal, we have to mention CLEANCOMPLETE® 360-Degree Safety & Hygiene Protocols, which we saw adhered to and followed diligently, giving us peace of mind and comfort throughout our stay.

All in all, this little sojourn just whet the appetite even further and we’ll definitely be doing our best to get back here sooner than later.
