Ocean By H10 wants clients to know how they'll be dealing with the new Mexico tax
Mexican municipalities have moved environmental sustainability to the forefront with the implementation of a new tourist tax soon to impact all guests at Ocean Maya Royale and Ocean Riviera Paradise, starting September 1st.
The mandatory government tax, 20 MEX Pesos (approximately $1.12 US subject to exchange rate variations), per room, per night, will be collected from all guests staying in Riviera Maya’s Municipality of Solidaridad.
Beginning September 1, 2017 guests staying at Ocean Maya Royale and Ocean Riviera Paradise may elect to pay the local tax in US Dollars or Mexican Pesos, by cash or credit card, upon check-in.
Stays subsequently extended will be subject to additional tax collection. Any early checkouts will be eligible to receive a pro-rated refund.
