Star Clippers
These shorter itineraries offer a seamless way to add a touch of nautical charm to traditional European travel plans

Star Clippers is making it easy for travellers to tack on a sailing adventure to their traditional land vacations in Europe.

The company is offering shorter three- to six-night sailings in Europe for both 2025 and 2026 on its modern clipper ships, a perfect way to turn a European vacation into an unforgettable one.

Even more, travellers who book before April 30, 2025, can take advantage of airfare savings and onboard credits for a selection of offerings through 2025.

Ships and embarkation ports

The Western Mediterranean, with its picturesque coastlines in Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, is a dream destination for many. Travelling aboard a small sailing ship enhances the experience, offering an intimate and authentic way to explore the region.

Embarkation ports in Rome, Lisbon and Cannes, among others, along with a variety of sailing dates, make it easy to incorporate a Star Clippers cruise into any land-based European vacation.

Travellers exploring France may choose to board the 227-guest Royal Clipper in Malaga, Spain, for a special Grand Prix Trials sailing in May. This six-night voyage includes a stop in Monaco during the Grand Prix Trials, as well as visits to Spain’s charming town of Ibiza, often compared to the Mediterranean’s Key West.

Alternatively, those visiting Italy can add a five-night sailing aboard the 166-guest Star Flyer, which departs from Rome and stops at the medieval town of Gaeta, with the chance to explore Ponza Town, a peaceful fishing village in the Pontine Islands.

For those looking to combine Portugal and Spain into a seamless vacation, Star Clippers’ five-night Royal Clipper sailing from Lisbon to Malaga is an ideal choice. This route features stops in Portugal’s Portimao, located in the Algarve, as well as Puerto Banus, Spain, with its stunning white-washed buildings and Mediterranean charm.

Airfare & Beverage credits

To make these shorter sailings even more affordable, Star Clippers is offering a $300 (per cabin airfare credit and a $150 beverage credit on select three- to six-night sailings in 2025. Bookings must be made by April 30, 2025, to qualify and are available exclusively to North American residents.

A Star Clippers sailing includes nearly everything under one fee – the chosen cabin, port charges, all meals, entertainment, the assistance of a knowledgeable cruise director and transportation to and from ports via tender boats.

Star Clippers operates some of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels. The Star Clipper and Star Flyer are traditional clipper ships, each carrying 166 guests and offering modern amenities. The Royal Clipper holds the Guinness World Record as the largest and only five-masted, full-rigged sailing ship still in service, with room for 227 guests. All three ships feature spacious teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, tropical bars, and piano lounges.
