Euro City Concierge
Recharge your batteries after exploring Britain and Ireland

How do you recharge your batteries after a long day of exploring Britain and Ireland’s best cities? Sit yourself down for a classic treat: Afternoon Tea. Here are three of Euro City Concierge favourites.

Dublin – The Westbury Hotel

Located in Dublin’s vibrant downtown, The Westbury Hotel hosts a scrumptious and sophisticated Afternoon Tea on the Gallery in their upper front lobby. Enjoy fine bone china, delicious finger sandwiches, tantalizing desserts and the essential scones, jam and clotted cream.

London – Fortnum and Mason’s

Located in the heart of Piccadilly, this establishment has been retailing the finest in food and beverage for over 300 years.

The present Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 2012 in the company of Their Royal Highnesses the Duchesses of Cornwall and Cambridge. So, if you want to pamper yourself in royal decadence, pop into F & M’s for a delectable selection of teas and all of your tea-time favourites including Suffolk Ham with English mustard, cucumber sandwiches with mint cream cheese and those scrumptious scones made fresh every day right there in Piccadilly.

Edinburgh – Her Majesty’s Yacht Britannia

Commissioned early in Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, Britannia served the monarch on holidays and working trips for 44 years. Now retired, the ship is moored in Leith – a harbour-side suburb of Edinburgh – and has been turned into a museum and Tea Room! You can’t get much closer to Royalty than sharing the same decks occupied by the Monarch and her Family!

The Royal Deck Tea Room serves up a scrumptious (and decadent) Afternoon Tea on it’s upper deck. If you mention it’s your birthday, you might just get a surprise gift!

Of note: the Tea Room does not take reservations so avoiding holidays and weekends is a good idea.

Leith is easily reached by direct city buses from downtown Edinburgh or a short cab ride.

Be sure to check the opening and closing times for these tea rooms as they vary. Now you’re armed with all the info you need to treat yourself to a Great Afternoon Tea in the UK & Ireland.
