Colorado Ski Country USA is the ideal place to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2024

With 21 diverse ski areas to choose from and multiple events happening through the month of March, Colorado Ski Country USA is the ideal place to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2024. Female focused ski clinics, empowerment events, and programming aimed at helping women connect with each other on and off the slopes is planned at numerous resort properties across the state:

 

Arapahoe Basin

On March 10, Arapahoe Basin is hosting their first Rossignol Women’s Day, an educational day on snow for women of all abilities and ages with a goal to encourage all women to enjoy being outside on snow. Registration includes a group lesson, Rossignol demonstrations, lunch, an après party and gift bag. 

 

Aspen

Aspen Snowmass will be celebrating with its second annual Uphill Champagne Lunch. Guests are invited to uphill at Buttermilk to the mountaintop Cliffhouse restaurant, where Aspen Snowmass will host a celebratory lunch offering complimentary champagne to attendees over 21. The Uphill Champagne Lunch is open to all and will take place at the Cliffhouse on Buttermilk from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8. The lunch will feature music from local DJ Alex Golden, a raffle benefitting the non-profit organization Women of Winter and gifts from local businesses. Attendees who do not wish to uphill can take the Summit Express or Tiehack Express chairlifts to the top. Ute Mountaineer, located in downtown Aspen, will provide complimentary uphill rentals for attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis.

That evening, Limelight Aspen will host an après event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring a free screening of “Advice for Girls,” a ski and snowboard film with an all-female cast and crew. Director Sara Robbins and local Aspen Snowmass athlete, Sierra Schlag, will be in attendance and will host a Q&A panel following the screening.  

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) will also be sponsoring the weekly Friday morning uphill breakfast in celebration of International Women’s Day at the Cliffhouse on Friday morning. Breakfast starts at 8:45 a.m. and will be followed by trivia and giveaways. 

 

Copper Mountain

Partnering with esteemed women-based groups such as SheJumps, LLeky and Elevated Alpine, Copper Mountain is offering a series of events and programs in celebration of International Women's Day and throughout the month of March. With a goal of enhancing the presence of women-centric events, fundraisers, and meet-ups at the resort, the partnerships contribute to building camaraderie and expanding opportunities for women to come together and enjoy the outdoors, foster inclusivity and create a supportive environment. Key highlights include women-specific clinics (Intro to Park, Carving, Mogul and All Mountain), women-focused events/program such as Women's Wednesdays, an all-women's ride day on March 8, and much more. Eldora

Building on their women-focused ski and snowboard programming that run all season, Eldora will host a Level 1 Rail Jam for women who want to challenge themselves and try something new. The event takes place at the main base area and will include a raffle, music and lots of action. Open to both skiers and snowboards, the event is scheduled for Sunday March 10. Check Eldora's calendar of activity when visiting the resort area as they regularly host women's alpine, snowboard and telemark lessons, female focused programming, and much more.

 

Winter Park

Women's ski clinics are offered all season long in Winter Park and more offerings have been added for March and April including, Women's Breakthrough, Trees and Steeps, and Bump Master. Led by certified female instructors, participants will enjoy discovering new terrain, mastering the mountain and learning new skills as they ski in groups.
